Set Intern

In the summer of 2018 and 2019, I interned with Seattle Children’s Theatre in Seattle, WA. The summer program put on 3 to 4 productions for the children enrolled in the acting classes, with each age group receiving their own production (elementary, middle, and high school).

My experience as the Scenic Designer for Heathers was different than other productions I have worked on in the past. Due to time constraints between constructing, painting, and loading in each show, most of the draftings and paint elevations were “napkin sketches” or thought up on the spot. This allowed me to think on my feet and not second-guess myself when it came to design choices.
